Morgan McKinley’s 2017 Irish Salary Guide has been released and it’s indicated some areas which are likely to see a pay rise this year.
According to RTÉ, areas like ICT, science, accounting and financial services have been highlighted as the most likely to gain due to the growing competition for companies to keep staff.
Another growth in terms of jobs this year will be in the building and construction sector as there is a new demand for housing following the commencement of the help to buy scheme from the government.
Morgan McKinley has said that forecasting has been difficult this year due to Brexit. Karen O’Flaherty, chief operations officer of Morgan McKinley said:
“Given the increased prominence of a hard Brexit scenario, any negative shock to export demand in the future would flow through the economy with potential implications for he labour market and employment.”
