Discovery Chanel personality Tim Samaras and his son Paul were among nine people who died following the tornado in Oklahoma. The pair died while chasing the tornado in El Reno.
According to CNN, Tim and his son were accompanied by fellow storm chaser Carl Young, who also passed away.
Tim was just 55 years of age, while his son Paul was only 24. Their colleague Carl was 45.
Tim’s brother Jim took to his facebook page to thank people for their support during this difficult time.
“Thank you to everyone for the condolences. It truly is sad that we lost my great brother Tim and his great son, Paul.”
“Our hearts also go out to the Carl Young family as well, as they are feeling the same feelings we are today,” he added. “They all unfortunately passed away but doing what they LOVED. Chasing tornadoes. I look at it that he is in the ‘big tornado in the sky…'”
Storm Chasers aired on the Discovery Channel for 5 years until the series finished in 2011. The network passed on its condolences to the families.
