This is the most ‘desirable’ gift for Irish couples on Valentine’s Day

Sounds like a plan!

Some surprising results here.

If you thought Valentine’s Day was on the way out and people had enough of red hearts and sentimental cards, that’s not entirely true.

According to a survey released by Durex Ireland, 45% plan to mark the 14th February in some way, proving that this tradition is around for another while.

When it comes to gifts, there’s one thing 36% of couples want and that’s a romantic break away together, be it a staycation or a city break.

Chocolates and teddies have their day it seems, trailing behind at 5% and 3% respectively.

For some, the gift isn’t all that important with 12% saying that they’d have no interest in getting or receiving a present.

Interestingly, 58% of those surveyed said they would be disappointed if their other half didn’t mark the day in one way or another.

When it comes to celebrating Valentine’s Day then, 26% will go out for dinner while 22% will stay in and chill.

What’s your opinion on the 14th February? Will you be celebrating with your partner, or having a Galentine’s date with your besties or just skipping the whole thing entirely?!
