Save money and do some good for the world around you by using simple measures to conserve energy in the home. If you’re not sure where to start – don’t worry! We’ll be bringing you one great energy-saving tip every day for the next few weeks.
Be aware of what you’re buying
When we need to replace a kitchen appliance, many of us choose the one that matches our kitchen, is big enough for our personal needs and has a high performance level.
While all these things are important, many of us fail to consider the environmental/electrical performance of these appliances. By buying appliances that have an efficient energy perfomance we can save a lot of money on our electricity bill.
If you’re planning on buying a new fridge, freezer, dishwasher or washing machine, make sure you check out the EU Energy Lable on the front of the appliance before you part with your hard-earned cash.
The EU Energy Label will display a scale ranking from A to G and will be able to tell you just how efficient the appliance you’re considering purchasing actually is in terms of its energy useage.
“A” is the most efficient type of appliance you can buy on the market right now, whereas an appliance that has received a ranking of “G” is considered to be a major drain on energy.
Consider all your options the next time you have to make a big appliance-related purchase. If you choose wisely you could end up saving yourself a lot of euros in the long run.
