Costa Coffee employee Matt Skeen came up with a very novel way of proposing to his girlfriend.
The 22-year-old used a till receipt to propose to his girlfriend of four years, Sarah Louise Nicholson.
He wrote: “Sarah Louise Nicholson you are the best thing that ever happened to me, I want to ask if you’d do me the honour of being my wife. WILL YOU MARRY ME?”
Matt, who works in a Newcastle branch of the coffee chain, told Sarah that he had to stop by the café to check his rota, according to Metro UK.
While Matt popped into a back office on the pretext of checking his hours, his manager, Gary Dixon, was in on the plan and he gave Sarah the important piece of paper.

The all-important receipt
Matt was watching his girlfriend’s reaction on CCTV before he came out of the room, bearing an engagement ring and champagne.
Speaking after the proposal, Sarah said “I came in and Gary asked me to text some feedback in which I’ve been asked to do before so it wasn’t out of the blue. I was reading the receipt looking for a mobile phone number.
“It was shocking, but I was happy. This has been a long time coming”.
Everybody AWWWW…
