Here at Her.ie headquarters, there’s nothing we love more than a bit of home-grown talent. So needless to say, we’re absolutely delighted that Chris O’Dowd will be back on Irish soil next weekend.
The Irish Independent reports that the actor/comedian has said that he will experience the proudest moment of his career to date next weekend, when his latest bit of work premieres in his home town of Boyle.
Yes, the first screening of Chris’ new television series for Sky 1, Moone Boy, will be held in the picturesque Lough Key Forest Park in Boyle, county Roscommon next Saturday. The screening is also coming a mere two weeks before Chris ties the knot with his fiancée Dawn Porter on August 25.
“It will be the proudest moment of my working life to premiere Moone Boy in my home town of Boyle,” said Chris.
“Watching people watching themselves depicted on the big screen fills me with equal measures of joy and fear. I’ll be wearing runners in case things get ugly. Up the West!” he added.

Chris and Dawn are set to get hitched on August 25th.
So what’s the programme about then? Well it’s set in the year 1989 and it follows the antics of the youngest member of the Moone family, Martin.
Chris will play the role of Sean, Martin’s imaginary friend, so you can only imagine what kind of divilment will occur. The programme also features Johnny Vegas, Steve Coogan, Simon Delaney, Maeve Higgins, Ruth McCabe and Norma Sheahan.
Seeing as how Sky has already confirmed that they will return to Boyle later this year to film the next series, we imagine that Moone Boy is definitely worth a watch when it hits our television screens.
What do you think ladies? Will you be watching Chris’ newest venture?
