Caught on Camera: BBC Presenter Sees Mouse in Studio, Freaks Out

To be fair, she handled it a lot better than we would!

All we’re saying is if a mouse decided to pay a little visit to the Her.ie offices we would be screaming a lot louder, and for a lot longer…

5 Live presenter Shelagh Fogarty was chatting away on her BBC show this afternoon when she was rudely interrupted by a rodent running across the room, spotted first by the guest Fogarty was interviewing.

Fogarty jumped from her chair kept her legs off the ground, telling listeners:

“Oh my God, how horrible. Oh gosh, I’m sorry, I’m live on the radio squealing and saying how horrible and kneeling on my chair because there’s a mouse in the room. Oh no!

She continued;

“I’m going to leave it there because I’m not sure I can continue interviewing in a serious manner when I know there’s a mouse scurrying around my feet…

“I’m just about ok but these feet aren’t touching the ground, I’ve got big boots on as well. There’s no way this mouse could do me harm, it’s really quite ridiculous.”

Probably knowing full well this clip was due for Internet fame, she added: “We’re on our webcam, if you’ve never watched the programme online now is definitely the time!”

The presenter has proved herself game for a laugh about the incident, telling one Twitter follower: “I’ve covered Tsunamis, terrorist attacks, riots, gun culture – and a mouse tips me over the edge. La Condition Humaine.”
