Brace Yourself – The Weather Is About To Take a Turn For The Worse

At least we won't be waiting for the car to defrost.

Brollies at the ready folks.

While we have been enjoying somewhat milder climes in recent days, forecasters have warned that heavy rain is set to return from Thursday.

Those in flood-hit areas are warned to be vigilant, although the rain is not said to be severe and there are no weather warnings issued as of yet.

However, a significant amount of rain will fall between today and the weekend.

Temperatures will be mild, around 10 to 12 degrees, so no more sitting pretty while the car defrosts, at least.

Met Éireann forecaster Willemien Phelan has warned that there could be more trouble in store for flood-hit communities.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, she said:

“Although there has been a dry period and river levels would have gone down, there is a risk in areas that are still flooded.”

“The rain will be heavy in areas. It’s not going to help the situation.”

She added: “It’s not extreme and there are no warnings at this stage.”
