We all have our own favourite gifts from when we were younger but it seems that a bicycle is the best present you can get as a child at Christmas.
A survey, conducted by gift card company One4all, found that a bike is the best present to find under the tree, followed closely by a Doll’s House. Clothes (unsurprisingly) ranked as the worst.
The study also found that, as adults, we are more reluctant to say what we want for Christmas. (They clearly haven’t seen our lists!)
In fact, half of the 919 Irish adults that were surveyed admitted that they were afraid of asking for a gift that was too expensive while 20 per cent believe it’s rude to ask for a specific item as a grown-up.
However others, almost a quarter, would happily spend money on a gift for themselves at this time of the year.
As for favourite Christmas memories, Santa presents came top but eating Christmas dinner also ranked highly (we’re counting down the days to that stuffing).
And while the majority of people revealed that they think Christmas is more enjoyable as a child, they said that putting the tree up and playing Christmas music still puts them in a festive mood.
