“Believable And Virtual Real World Proof” – New App Allows Singletons To Pretend They Have A Partner

The app is designed to keep inquisitive family at bay

Cathy Donohue

Invisible Girlfriend is an app designed to help single men and women pretend they have a partner, if they so wish, by providing  “believable and virtual real world proof” .

The app provides a wealth of data including phone calls, voicemails, random gifts and of course the all-important proof in a 21st century relationship, a Facebook “in a relationship” status.

Pricing for the service is on a month-by-month basis ranging from $9.99 (€7.42) for the ‘just talking’ package and £49.99 (€37) for the ‘almost engaged’ one.

Invisible Girlfriend provides the evidence to pretend you have a partner, if you so wish

Although the current service caters for “invisible girlfriends”, the company is currently designing an Invisible Boyfriend and both are designed to be LGBT friendly.

The app is designed purely to fool prying family, friends and colleagues and not to create a girlfriend that the buyer can believe in.

‘We’re giving them a better story to tell, even if the story isn’t true,’ creator Matt Homann told the Riverfront Times, a weekly newspaper distributed in St Louis, Missouri.

The company is brand new, although Homann purchased InvisibleGirlfriend.com at 3 a.m. more than three years ago, calling it a “drunk domain” — paying only $7 for it with no clue if he would ever actually use it.
