Judy Bloom just saved a man’s marriage, by offering to send a signed copy of her famous book “Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret”
The author was made aware of the plight of Leonard Lasek, who accidentally threw out a copy of his wife’s book.
The novel had been a parting gift from his wife’s mother before she died, and understandably, she was quite upset to discover her treasure was gone.
Posting flyers in the area, and starting a social media campaign, Leonard started the hunt for his wife’s book:
And it seems the campaign worked. Sort of. Author Judy Blume was alerted to the desperate husband’s cause and tweeted to her followers for help to track him down:
Oh no tragic! Will send signed copy. Not the same, I know. Let’s hope it saves the marriage. Not sure I can find that cover but will try.

Thankfully, the two were put in contact with one another, and the gift was GREATLY appreciated:
.@reddsauce-and you were just married! I take this as a good omen. Still think Katie’s book will show up but I’m on the case. Flying today.
