A little hedgehog caused a stir in Britain yesterday when he found himself stuck in a crisp packet.

The emergency warranted a three-hour long rescue operation in Weston-super-Mare where six people battled to free the creature now appropriately named Crispian.

According to BBC, the hedgehog crawled into an empty packet of Tayto* seeking food and shelter from the cold weather before accidently falling into a railed off area.

Brave workers from Prickles Hedgehog Rescue battled the elements and cut through railings to free Crispian just in the nick of time.

Jules Bishop, a spokesperson from the organisation said: “He’s thriving now and will be here all winter as he’s so tiny,” she said.

“I want to thank all the people involved because obviously without their commitment and dedication this little hog would have had no way to survive.

“He was very, very cold and dehydrated when I emptied him out of the crisp packet.”

We hope Crispian is resting up after his traumatic day out. We’re sure he has his feet up in front of the fire and is scoffing a few packs of Salt’n’Vinegar.
