A Thrilling Day Of Football In Store As NFL Semi-Finals Kick Off On Sunday

It's set to be a cracking day of footballing action.

The road to glory is paved with hard work and dedication and some of this will come to fruition for six teams on Sunday as the Division 1, 2 and 3 semi-finals will be decided.

Division 1

In Division 1, two of the most highly-anticipated games of the year so far will kick off as defending champions Cork come face to face with near rivals Kerry, while Dublin will go head-to-head with Galway.

Our prediction?

It’s going to be a tough one to call, but we think Cork will just have the edge on Kerry after 60 minutes.

It will be even harder to separate Dublin and Galway, who were left all square after the final whistle when they met in Tuam earlier this year, but we think the ladies in maroon and white might just have enough to see them through.

Division 2

Division 2 has dished up some of the most exciting games of the league to date and Sunday’s matches will be no different as there are some tantalising contests in store.

First up at the double header in Clones, Armagh and Cavan will do battle for glory in a hugely anticipated clash of two Ulster powerhouses. Cavan had a slight edge the last time these two sides met, with a last minute goal securing their glory.

Meanwhile in the second game an undefeated Donegal will meet fourth place Westmeath. Westmeath will have a tough battle ahead with Donegal talisman Geraldine McLaughlin returning to an already on-form Donegal.

Our prediction?

It’s going to be extremely difficult to call a winner in the first game. Armagh is hungry to right the earlier encounter between the two, while Cavan will be hoping to get back to winning ways following a defeat in the play-off last weekend. We’ll be surprised if it doesn’t go to extra-time, but Cavan might just do enough to power to glory.

In the second game, Westmeath are massive underdogs and despite reaching the final last year and naming a very experienced side for the clash, we think Donegal have their tails up and will be hard-stopped from driving to victory.

Division 3

Finally in Division 3, an unbeaten Waterford will take on a recently promoted Roscommon in Nenagh on Sunday in what should be a tough and competitive contest.

Meanwhile Ballyhaunis GAA will play host to the second semi-final between Leitrim and Sligo.

Our prediction?

It would be difficult not to go with table toppers Waterford for the first game. They are on-form this year and have proved unstoppable to date.

Leitrim and Sligo may be a much closer affair but we think Leitrim might just have the extra pace to finish with a win.

Regardless of the results though one thing for sure is that this is set to be an unmissable day of footballing action in what has been a gripping National Football League to date.
