There are so many films on over the Christmas period that we thought we might help you out and pick some of the best from across the important days. Mainly the days that you will be at home and stuck in front of a television screen. Here are some of our favourites.
1. Back to the Future Trilogy, Sky Movies, 2pm
Today is the perfect day for sitting in front of the television for the entire day and watch an entire trilogy and we have two picks for this. The first is a modern classic, the tale of Marty McFly, a young student who travels back in time with a crazy scientist named Doc.
2. The Sound of the Music, BBC1, 2.15
Over the years, it has become a Christmas staple and it’s easy to understand why, those tunes are damn catchy. The Sound of Music tells the story of Maria who becomes a nanny to children during wartime and soon helps them escape.

3. Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Sky Movies Action, 3.30pm
The other big trilogy is the masterpiece from Peter Jackson, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the story of the one ring and the hobbit who had to return it to Mordor along with his merry band of men, elves and dwarves.
4. Big, Channel 4, 4.10pm
A Tom Hanks classic, Big tells the story of a young boy who wishes to be big and wakes up the next morning to find out that this is in fact the case.
5. Free Willy, TV3, 4.55pm
A young boy risks everything to free a killer whale from an aquarium that plans to kill it. It’s a kid’s classic and just a genuinely nice film for today, particularly if that hangover is kicking in. Get the tissues in.

6. Kung Fu Panda 2, BBC1, 5.05pm
The follow-up to the fabulous Kung Fu Panda tells the story of the wonderful Po the Panda who must save China from an evil peacock villain. If the beautiful animation doesn’t get you, you have no heart… or soul.
7. The Terminal, BBC2, 5.55pm
The Terminal is one of those underrated films which tells the story of an Eastern European immigrant who gets stranded in JFK airport for quite an extended period of time, but he soon finds love. Just wonderfully enjoyable and an amazing performance from Hanks, this is definitely one to check out today.
