The New Yorker celebrated the Supreme Court’s historic rulings on gay marriage with a magazine cover that’s oozing in awesomeness.
This beautifully designed cover features world famous duo Bert and Ernie snuggling up on the couch as they watch the landmark rulings on gay marriage on tv and sharing what is simply called, their “moment of joy.”
“It’s amazing to witness how attitudes on gay rights have evolved in my lifetime,” said Jack Hunter, the artist behind the magazine cover. “This is great for our kids, a moment we can all celebrate.”

Sesame Street has long denied that these two characters are in fact gay but this poignant cover ultimately suggests otherwise.
Whatever the case, we wish Bert and Ernie the best on their wonderful friendship that we’ve so much admired over the years.
