Road trip to Kerry anyone?

Road trip anyone?!

A publican in Kenmare, Co. Kerry was deemed to be far too attractive for his own good recently when he was caught serving pints after hours in O’Connor’s Bar.

According to The Irish Times, the solicitor for James O’Connor stated that young women find his client ‘attractive’ and that was the reason he had problems getting them to leave the pub.

The report states that Mr. O’Connor was caught serving late drinks by Gardaí on his premises at 1.50am on June 2nd of last year.

It also states that when Gardaí returned in August, there were reportedly 28 people in the pub.

“They weren’t all consuming alcohol,” solicitor Pádraig O’Connell is quoted as saying by The Irish Times.

“There is a strong social aspect to the premises – there is a social attraction there in that my client is a bachelor and young women find him very attractive,” he continued, reportedly adding that his client was ‘a slight rogue’.

According to The Irish Times, Sgt. Derek Fleming added: “The problem is he can’t get them out at night.

“The premises is beside the Square Pint night club and they wait in his bar until it is time to go there.”

The charge for August was withdrawn when O’Connor pled guilty to the June incident and he was fined €200.
