A conference to be held in Dublin next month will welcome former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore as one of the special guests among others. The Hunger-Nutrition-Climate Justice conference will examine the links between climate change, hunger and poor nutrition.

Other high-profile guests attending the event include President Michael D. Higgins, Mary Robinson and Joyce Banda from Malawi, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

The organisers of the event have stated that 100 people representing farming organisations and vulnerable communities from around the globe will attend the event to discuss the impact unpredictable weather is having on their lives.

Mr. Gore and other leaders will listen to those facing troubles around the world and contribute to the conference themselves. The former Vice-President is very vocal about climate issues, particularly so in his documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

The event is being held by the Irish Government and the Mary Robinson Foundation and will take place in Dublin Castle on April 15th and 16th as part of Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union.
