Funny man Ricky Gervais is missing out on promotional duties for his new show ‘Derek’ which begins tonight on Channel 4, but for a very good reason.
The comedian is currently hard at work filming the sequel to last year’s Muppets reboot, imaginatively titled ‘The Muppets’. The new movie? ‘The Muppets… Again’.
‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Jason Segel both wrote and starred in last year’s hit movie, but will not return for the sequel.
Instead, Gervais will take the main male lead, and the hilarious writer and star of ’30 Rock’, Tina Fey will take on the female lead.
Ty Burrell, better known as Phil Dunphy from ‘Modern Family’ will also play a big role in the latest Muppets adventure.
Some details have also emerged about the plot for the forthcoming movie; Kermit and the gangfind themselves mixed up with a criminal mastermind named Constantine while they’re enjoying a world tour. Unfortunately for Kermit, Constantine happens to be the image of his little froggy self.

The Muppets… Again is due for release in March 2014.
