The old saying “always the bridesmaid, never the bride” makes being a bridesmaid sound like a bad thing, but here at Her Towers, we absolutely love throwing on a fancy gúna and marching up the aisle.
From organising parties to being a part of the biggest day of your friend/relative’s life, there are so many reasons why being a bridesmaid is the best thing in the world.

Popping the question…
The best moment of all (apart from the day itself of course) is the day you get asked to be a bridesmaid for your friend, sibling, relative. There is nothing more special than being asked to take part in somebody’s big day… definitely have the tissues to hand, there’s going to be a lot of tears!
Party time!
As bridesmaid, you get to organize the party of all parties … the hen night! What could be more fun than organizing a night (or indeed weekend) that your sister/friend will remember forever. Okay, okay, we know there’s a bit of stress involved, but the night itself and the happy smile on her face more than makes up for it!
Food… nom…
Another brilliant part of being a bridesmaid is that you get to sit at the top table, thereby getting your food served first. You can have a little chuckle to yourself as you laugh at all the other poor sods who will only be having their soup while you are on dessert (cue evil laugh).
The Dress
For a bride it’s all about The Dress and being there when she finds the perfect one is a massive occasion. On top of that, your dress is also important and can ensure another day out about the shops with your friend/sister. It also takes ALL of the stress out of what you are going to wear on the day.
A little bit of power…
Okay, okay, we all hate people who go on power trips but seriously, it feels pretty amazing when you are able to put people in their place if they are annoying the bride on her big day. You are there to make sure her day runs without a hitch, so step up to the mark and own that role!
Champagne Supernova
The morning of the wedding is one of our favourite parts of being a bridesmaid. You get to drink champagne, you get to go all teary-eyed and share all of the special moments of the day and, not only that, but all you have to do is make sure you get to the church as you have your dress sorted and you’ve got your hair and make-up done too. All round win!
Hugs and laughter
Some of the most special moments you will spend with the bride, even if you have been friends for years, will be in the lead-up to their wedding. Tears, hugs, and laughter are all part and parcel of planning a wedding and some of those days will make up your most precious memories for years after.
Bonus mention for all the single ladies
People say you will never find anyone at a wedding… but they’re wrong. Throw on a bridesmaid’s dress and you will be able to chat up all the hotties in the place with the perfect excuse of ‘playing a good host’. Also, being with the “in crew”, you get all the insider goss on any hot friends on the groom’s side.
