Many a good story comes from a night out on the town and this New Year’s Eve tale could well be the best we’ve heard to date.
Jonny Wilson, from North Devon, started 2016 in a rather unexpected way, in a nursing home.
The 18-year-old, who’ll you find over at @phatpunk, woke up on the 1st of January and took to Twitter, writing: “Oi help have I woken up in a nursing home??”

He then continued to live tweet what was happening, saying the whole thing was “proper weird”.

Jonny’s eventful night out has since been picked up by numerous news outlets, including Buzzfeed and The Huffington Post.
Chatting to Buzzfeed, Jonny said: “I went out in town with my best mate and a group of people. I remember at one point I was in this club and I was like, ‘what the f*ck? Why am I by myself in this club?”
‘So I walked outside where loads of people had congregated and saw two people I sorta knew.
“Stayed with them for a couple of hours then I guess we must’ve looked for somewhere to stay and that’s where we ended up!”
It was a night he won’t forget for a while and as Jonny said, he started 2016 off ‘large’!
