Growing up seems like a great thing when you are younger but as you get older, you want nothing more than to be a kid again and enjoy the things you feel you no longer can as an adult.
But that’s where you’re wrong. There are LOTS of things from your childhood that you’re never too old for… well, that’s what we’re telling ourselves anyway!
1. Disney films
Not only are they thoroughly entertaining and include some of the catchiest songs ever written but Disney films also include some valuable life lessons that come in handy in your later years.
2. Rice Krispie Buns
You’re never too old for a simple yet delicious bun (or five). Plus, we get to lick the bowl during the process.
3. A lie-in on a Saturday
It’s one of life’s simple pleasures that ought to be enjoyed by people of all ages.
4. Games
So you might not actually be able to manoeuvre your body into the shape necessary for a game of Twister any more but that certainly doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try.
5. Free things
It could be a biscuit in a coffee shop or a ‘buy one get one free’ offer but it will still put a giant smile on your face.
6. Swings/ seesaws/ the playground in general
Sure you’ve been on umpteen swings, down plenty of slides and on more than your fair share of seesaws but you will always want to do it again when you pass an empty playground. Yipee!
7. Your parents’ advice
You are never too old to hear what your parents have to say (although you might be too old to like it all the time). Nor are you ever too old to enjoy your’s mam’s cooking or her care when you’re not feeling well.
8. Onesies
They are both comfortable and practical, something which we’ve come to appreciate more as the years have gone by. Also, if they’re good enough for Ryan Gosling, they’re good enough for us.
9. Cheesy music
When that Backstreet Boys tune comes on, you still turn it up, grab your hairbrush and sing at the top of your lungs. The only thing that has changed is that this time you won’t want anyone to hear you.
