Some of our greatest memories come from being in the kitchen with the Mammy, rustling up some tasty treats and grub.
Priceless memories were made in the kitchen, from baking buns to cooking up pancakes. Here are 10 wonderful things that we used to make when we were younger:
1. Chocolate Crispy Buns
Mixing up the melted chocolate with cereal crispies was one of our favourite things to do! Especially licking the chocolatey goodness off of the wooden spoon.
2. Pancakes
Probably the only times we were allowed near the mixer, pancakes were an absolute joy to make- especially when it came around to covering them in Nutella and honey!

3. Eggs, Eggs and More Eggs
Scrambled, boiled, fried – when it came to making eggs we loved trying out new ways to impress the folks at home with our egg-cellent skills.
4. Mini Pizzas
Lappings of tomatoes and cheese, putting toppings on your homemade pizzas was so much fun! Sure we used pitta bread as a base but they still tasted yummy.
5. Scones
Not only were we allowed cut out the shapes for baking but we got to eat them with jam and butter – delicious.

6. Queen Cakes
With added squiggles of icing for extra effect! (We must admit that a lot of icing ended up on our clothes).
7. Chocolate Chip Cookies
What a joy it was to be able to place all those chocolate chips onto the cookie dough. Nom.

8. Butterfly Buns
An upgrade on the classic queen cakes, with butterfly buns not only were you able to have fun mixing the ingredients together but you got to mess around with the cream too!
9. Ice Cream Sundaes on a Sunday
Mmmm, there was nothing like grabbing the rasberry and chocolate topping and creating a delicious ice cream medley – sure you didn’t have a fancy glass to put it but that didn’t take away from its sentimental value.
10. Making Breakfast in Bed for Mammy
Though our intentions were good, it nearly always ended up being a complete mess in the kitchen!
