Share This… Not Your Oats & More

Admit it, at this stage it has happened to you quite a few times; someone mentions that new app or website and you clearly have not got a clue what they are talking about. How did this happen? How did you get so old and out of touch? Here are ten things that prove you’re from a different generation.
1. You sometimes call Facebook “the facebook”.
What do you call that thing with all the photos? Yes, that. The Facebook.
2. You still sometimes think a serial killer will get you if you use an online dating site.
Plenty of people use online dating sites all the time. A lot of people even meet their future partners online, but not you. You listen to your mother far too often. “Sure, anyone could be looking at that!”
3. You say “how do I do that?” far too often.
I can do what online? I can do everything online? Sorry, how do I do that?
4. You’ve actually uttered the phrase “kids these days, eh?”
Your mother used to say this quite a lot and recently, you have found yourself using this phrase far too often. But kids WERE different when we were younger, weren’t they?!
5. You walk across a room to tell someone something instead of emailing them.
Sure, why would I email them when they are right beside me? I’ll just go over and have one of those things everyone seems to be petrified of these days, a conversation.
6. You read a book before you go asleep, not Twitter.
TURN OFF THOSE MACHINES! I need to read a good novel. What’s this Twitter thing you speak of?
7. You still think a pensionable job might be a good thing.
You know your mother used to swear by pensionable jobs, but at 20, you didn’t think it was that important. Not anymore, now the thought of earning money in your latter years for just sitting on a beach sounds amazing.
8. Your still own a diary.
“It would take me too long to figure out how to enter that into my phone, I’ll just stick it in my diary.” However, you still carry your phone all the time.
9. Someday, you would quite like a “permanent address.”
Yes, you have moved around quite a bit in your youth but you really want to settle down and have a permanent address instead of racing about one city to several apartments to pick up post. FUN!
10. It was far from sushi you were reared…
A ham sandwich with a packet of crisps always did fine at lunch. Not anymore, now you have the most exotic of lunches at the most ineresting locations. Sushi is a staple.
