The life of a student is a varied one to say the least. From trying to juggle part-time jobs, full time study and a hectic social life, it can be hard to keep everything going.
A lot of us have been there, some of us still are, and if there’s one thing that can be said for students in Ireland, some things are universal.
Here’s some of our favourites.

There’s no place like home…
After a week of madness, there’s nothing nicer than coming home to your mammy for some TLC (and to get your clothes washed). Thanks mammy.
The bus of horrors
That Thursday night session seemed like SUCH a good idea… that is until you had to get on the bus home the next day. Barf.
Food glorious food
Eating pasta/noodles/beans on toast all week is great, but that feeling of raiding your parents’ fridge and stuffing as much food back into your bag as possible for the week ahead is the best.
9am lectures…
… Are a thing of evil. The thoughts of them is enough to make you complain, but to be fair, you never actually get to them.
The TV…
Is your best friend. Who knew you could watch so many episodes of Friends back-to-back?! Also, the people on Jeremy Kyle help to put things in perspective – they have real problems.
Priorities, priorities
College life is all about priorities. If you buy that really expensive basket of food shopping it doesn’t leave you much money to head out on the tear later in the week. Rice cakes and pasta it is so. Again.
It’s only compulsory…
If it’s a tutorial… though if you get your friend to perfect your signature, job done. (Not that we condone skipping classes).
Freedom
You may have a part-time job to keep your social life going, but the best thing about college? The J1 visa that comes every summer. It has to be done. One house and 25 people in San Diego? Sure why not!
There’s nothing like…
A good nap. Preferably mid-afternoon. College is hard.
As for your graduation…
It is a bit of an anti-climax, and not because it’s not good craic, but because it’s the start of real life. HELP!
