Twice a week, Amy and Patricia will be giving an in depth look at what it’s really like to live life while following the Weight Watchers plan. To keep up with the girls’ journey make sure you check out their previous diary entry by clicking here.

I stayed the same at weigh-in this week and I have to say I’m delighted about it. To be honest, I’ve been having such big losses for the past few weeks, I was sort of wondering when they would stop. Given the fact that I’m almost at my goal weight, I had a feeling that my body would eventually start to slow down when it comes to shedding the pounds and you know what? That’s totally fine with me. As long as they come off, I don’t care how long it takes!

I’ve already made a pact with myself to continue with the Weight Watchers plan when my challenge for Her.ie ends. I firmly believe that attending the meetings and practicing the ProPoints plan has changed my perspective when it comes to food and I’m so close to  my ultimate goal that it would be a shame to quit right before the miracle occurs.

So it’s the start of a brand, new Weight Watchers week and I’m planning on staying on track as best I can. I’ve been religiously tracking every single thing that goes into my mouth, I’ve been drinking buckets of water and I’m hoping to get a bit of exercise in over the weekend.

Thankfully I’m planning on having a quiet weekend in, so there won’t be the temptation of a sneaky chipper after a few drinks on Saturday night. I’ve already budgeted my ProPoints so I can have a little treat at some stage over the next few days and to be honest? Well I’m looking forward to just having a quiet one – I feel like I’ve been running around doing stuff ever since Christmas, so it’ll be nice to have a bit of a break.

In our last two meetings Mary was talking about the new approach Weight Watchers is taking when it comes to helping us to lose weight and one thing that really struck me was the introduction of the concept of hedonic hunger. Hedonic hunger is when you just eat for pleasure, even if you’re not actually hungry. I recognise that this is actually a big problem for me, so I’m trying to be more aware of how I feel when I eat food.

Pausing for a second to ask “Am I really hungry?” is such a simple thing to do but it could be the difference between opting for a piece of 0 ProPoints fruit or wasting 22 ProPoints on an entire tube of Pringles. I think this new awareness is definitely helping me to understand the kind of eater that I am and how to manage my own cravings and hunger levels.

I’m hoping to see a minus on the scales next week. In the meantime, I’ll just keep on tracking!

Hello everyone! It was another success on the Weight Watchers scales this week as I was down another one and a half pounds. I’m so happy to be getting closer and closer to losing my first stone and I am starting to feel more confident about myself.

This week’s class focused on the importance of a healthy hearty breakfast and it was the most motivating class in weeks. I can be pretty boring in my breakfast choices often sticking with Weetabix but I have really been inspired this week to make the first meal of the day more interesting. I’ve also made it a priority to eat breakfast every day because it is so important in losing weight. Other members shared some great ideas and I left this week with lots of morning inspiration!

This week I’ve also been encouraged to make sure I’m hydrated and drinking a lot of water.  It has never been a problem for me but sometimes when you’re busy it can be the last thing on your mind so I’ve been filling up a large bottle of water each morning and making sure I drink the lot before I go to bed. I also love sparkling water with a bit of Mi Wadi… it’s almost like a fizzy drink.

More than ever this week I’ve been craving something sweet after dinner and after indulging in a pack of sweets on Tuesday I made sure that there was some low fat jelly ready in the fridge for the next evening. It is delicious with some fruits and the Weight Watchers yoghurts come in such varieties. It really has been satisfying me and keeping me away from the shop!

I’m really looking forward to the weekend and I think I will whip up a large batch of 0 ProPoints butternut squash soup for the freezer. It’s been really cold these last few days and it really warms you up at lunchtime. I’ve been adding curry powder to my soup to give it that extra kick and it is delicious. Last week I added some left over soup to a stew and my family said it was delicious so I will definitely be doing that from now on.

I’m looking forward to another week on the ProPoints plan and I hope you all had an equally as successful week.
