Some avoid them like the plague while others help themselves to two portions but doctors have warned that people shouldn’t eat too many Brussels sprouts this Christmas.
It comes after the Medical Journal of Australia revealed that a Scottish man was hospitalised last year after eating too many!

A man from Scotland was admitted to hospital last year after eating sprouts.
But, while some might use this as an excuse to have more turkey, the case isn’t as simple as it might sound.
The man in question was on blood-thinners after receiving a mechanical heart according to reports by the BBC.
Vitamin K, which is contained in sprouts, produces blood-clotting proteins thus the greens didn’t agree with his medication.

Wonder if this lot will be having sprouts on their plates this Christmas?
In general sprouts are very good for you as they are rich in healthy omega-3 fatty acids and contain various vitamins including A, B and E which means that only certain people need to be careful.
So we hate to break it to you but sprouts are actually very healthy and should only be avoided by those on specific medications. If you are concerned about having too many, you should consult your doctor. Otherwise, eat away… within reason of course!
