Did you assume that the evolution of mankind was over?
If you thought “yes” like us, you’re wrong.
Visual artist Nickolay Lamm teamed up a computational geneticist (not something you’d see on the CAO) Alan Kwan and created what they think humans will look like in 100,000 years time.
The pair created three possible ways that humans’ physical appearances will change to suit their environments.
These are the reasons for Lamm and Kwan’s estimations. Kwan writes:
1. Humans will have larger eyes because of the dimmer environment on colonies further from the Sun than Earth.
2. Humans will have more pigmented skin to protect themselves from harmful UV radiation outside of the Earth’s protective ozone.
3. Humans will wear communication lenses in contacts, a bit like Google Glass.
4. By this point, communications lenses will have replaced devices such as Google Glass.
5. Bone-conduction devices, with embedded nanochips, will be used for communications and entertainment.

This is what we look like now.

Bigger foreheads and slightly bigger eyes.

Bigger eyes, bigger foreheads and more-pigmented skin.

This is what humans could look like in 100,000 years time.
