How long have you been running?

Ever since primary school! I’ve competed in many 100m, 200m, 800m, and cross-country races for my school and an athletics clubs over the years, so running has long been a passion.

What is the longest distance you have ever run?

A half-marathon, which is 21.1k. I completed this as part of the Ironman 70.3 challenge in Galway last September.

You’re currently training for the Fit Magazine City Series in Phoenix Park, what time do you hope to complete it in?

I aim to complete it in 50 minutes or under, so fingers crossed!

Adidas/Puma/Nike/Asics or Under Armour?

I’m really enjoying training in my new Adidas Boost runners at the moment.

What’s your favourite running tune?

Anything upbeat that helps me get into a rhythm. I’m a fan of cheesy 80s power ballads too!

What’s your biggest indulgence food wise?

There’s no particular food I crave or regularly indulge in, but I do enjoy a glass of chilled Champagne! That’s a really nice treat on special occasions.

What’s your favourite time of the day to exercise?

First thing in the morning, when my energy is at its peak. I love to get up early for a run while the world is still asleep!

Do you prefer to run alone or with friends?

I’m happy doing either. Sometimes a lone run is really refreshing as it’s time out to think, but I also really like to have a running buddy so we can motivate each other.

What do you usually eat before a run?

Something light but really nourishing, like a green smoothie with spinach, kale, chlorella, banana, pineapple and coconut water.

What’s your number one training tip?

Consistency!

Where’s your favourite place to run?

I love to run by the sea, whether it’s a tropical beach early in the morning or along Dun Laoghaire pier. I find the sea really energising, and of course it’s great to have a nice view when running too!
