Snack It Up With Fruit Smoothies: All Under 240 Calories Each

We’re always looking for healthy substitutes for our incessant snacking habit. How about a snack that’s healthy to boot and tasty too?

Introducing the fruit smoothie.

Smoothies can be sugar-loaded and high in fat, but when you mix it up yourself at home you’re guaranteed it to be good for you.

Here are five delicious smoothie recipes for you to try out this week, and they’re all under 240 calories. The method is the same for them all, just mix up and enjoy.

1. Peanutting It Up

Ingredients:

1/4 cup
Low-fat milk
1/2 medium ripe banana
1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
1/2 cup crushed ice

Only 237 calories

2. Watermelon Mint

Ingredients:

2 cups seedless watermelon
2 tablespoons fresh mint
1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt

Just 98 calories

3. Mango Avocado

1/4 cup sliced avocado
1 cup sliced mango
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon fresh mint
1 teaspoon honey
2 cups crushed ice

Only 191 calories

4. The Green Machine

1 cup fresh baby spinach leaves
1 and a 1/2 cups chopped fresh honeydew
1/3 cup nonfat Greek yogurt

Only 162 calories

5. If You Like… Pineapple

1/2 medium banana
1/4 cup light coconut milk
1 cup chopped fresh pineapple
1/4 cup chilled pineapple juice
1/2 cup crushed ice

Only 203 calories

And a few quick tips?

Add your ice last to the drink. Adding it first can mean you can overblend it and be left with a watery drink.

Also, don’t be put off by using frozen fruit. They’re just as nutrient-packed, just make sure they don’t have any extra sugars. And you won’t need as much ice…
