A seven-year-old girl has declared that she is going to shave her own head to support her little’s sister’s battle against cancer.

Hannah Gorsegner wants to raise money for children with cancer following the diagnosis of her little sister Natalie in August 2012.

Natalie was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia when she was just three years old and the tough chemotherapy treatments which followed caused her to lose her hair. The five-year-old is now in remission.

“I’m shaving my head,” vowed sister, Hannah in an interview on the Today show. “This is one of the ways that I can help kids with cancer and inspire them to be brave during  their treatment,” she added.

The girls’ mother, Andrea, has already raised €107,000 for children’s cancer care through the organization, Infinite Love For Natalie Grace. Andrea was nervous at first when she heard of Hannah’s decision to shave off her hair.

“It’s obviously difficult as a parent to say no to your kid when they feel so strongly about something,” she said.

“The fact that we are one of the fortunate families, that she is doing so well and had a good prognosis – I think that’s why we do so much…for those families who can’t do it themselves,” she added.
