A message which was left on a mental health community board online urging people to realise suicide is never your only option, has gone viral this week.
Oringally posted on Tumblr last August, the post was left by a mental health worker who shared his own experience of working in a care charity aimed at suicide prevention.
The post, titled “No one will miss me”, “I’m better off dead” reads:
‘When I worked at a non-profit that handled suicide prevention, I had access to the donation records. Each month, a specific man donated 15$ to our organization. It was like clockwork.. same day, same man, he had been doing this for over 4 years. It always seemed odd to me but I never questioned it… until I saw a note attached one month. “For Noah- Dad”.
His donation was once his child’s allowance.
I can promise you, they would miss you for the rest of their lives.’

The message has since been re-shared to Imgur by one user Mr Bollywood, who wrote:
“My condolences to all those who lost friends, family and loved ones to suicide. Always remember, suicide is never an answer. There are always those who love you and will keep loving you, no matter what, including everyone on Imgur.”
The post, which has since been viewed more than 600,000 times just asks for anyone to feel lonely, isolated or trapped to reach out to speak to a friend.
