“Mobile Phones Won’t Give You Cancer” Claim Norwegian Researchers

Some new research has shown that using your mobile phone for extended periods of time may not be as bad for your health as you once thought...

For years we’ve been told that spending too much time on our mobile phones can have some serious consequences for our health. Now, however, mobile phone addicts can rejoice as researchers are claiming that cell phones don’t cause cancer and pose no threat to our health.

In the past, previous studies have found that mobile phones and other transmitting devices (such as Wi-Fi) seep a low-level electromagnetic field into our surrounding environments that was thought to cause a harmful heating of human tissue and, in some cases, infertility and cancer.

However, now researchers have discovered that there is no scientific evidence that proves exposure to these electromagnetic waves actually poses a health risk.

After studying the electromagnetic fields around mobile phones, wireless phones, Wi-Fi, broadcasting transmitters and other communications equipment, researchers found that while prolonged use can cause symptoms of electromagnetic hypersensitivity (such as headache, fatigue, stress and more) it doesn’t actually cause the hypersensitivity itself and it also doesn’t cause the size of a tumour to increase.

For years there have been concerns that mobile phones can cause cancer.

“We have no grounds to say that the symptoms are imaginary. But a large number of studies suggest that these symptoms must have other causes than the physical effects of low-level electromagnetic fields around mobile phones, wireless transmitter and other wireless equipment,” said Professor Jan Alexander.

“Research provides no evidence to support that interventions help, such as reducing the use of mobile phones of wireless networks. Our opinion is that patients with these health problems must be taken seriously by the health service and should be treated as other patients. There is a need for greater expertise in the health service for this group of patients,” he added.

So ladies, this means that as far as some researchers are concerned, your phone is relatively safe. If you’re still worried about the impact electromagnetic waves can have on your health, why not get a hands-free kit for your phone? This will stop you from absorbing some of the waves because you won’t have to hold your phone directly against your head.
