The Irish Society for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease is holding a National Youth Day this Saturday, 29th November.
The free event, open to both existing and new members, will take place in the Aviva Stadium and registration will open from 10:30a.m.
This society was established in 1984 and it encourages those living with Crohn’s disease and/or ulcerative colitis to avail of the support it provides.
Telephone support, meetings with dieticians and lectures by healthcare professionals are just some of the services the society organises throughout the year.

Emphasis is placed on the National Youth ‘Huddle’ Day because it is between the ages of 15 and 35 that these conditions are often diagnosed.
Inflammatory bowel disease, a term which refers to both Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis, affects over 20,000 Irish people.
Symptoms of IBD include exhaustion, diarrhoea, an uncontrollable need to go to the toilet and in some cases severe stomach pain.
The Youth Day provides current members a chance to explain the benefits of joining the society while also providing support and information to those thinking of joining up.
