Nothing’s worse than hitting the gym with all the enthusiasm in the world only to watch the minutes crawl by on the clock…
How many more minutes? How many more kilometres on this treadmill? How many more sit-ups before I can just lie back and close my eyes?!
We have a few tips to make sure you don’t feel like the clock has stopped on you.
1. Save Your Shows
It’s great to settle down on the couch in the evening to watch a few of your favourite TV shows, but why not watch them during your workout instead?
You’ll stick to your workout and finish strong if your mind is consumed by what the gang are getting up to in Summer Bay…
2. Listen To Tunes
Download some upbeat tunes to refresh your workout. Pick dance tunes, the latest chart toppers and those with a high tempo. Create a workout playlist on your music player and you’ll notice the difference in no time. Plan your playlist so you know that the end of one song means a change in exercise…

3. Set Goals
Instead of just setting one massive goal for yourself at the end of the year, stick to mini goals that you can tick off as the weeks go by. Nothing beats ticking something off. Try and burn so many calories during your 5k walk, make so many sit-ups within your workout etc. The feeling of satisfaction will be fantastic!
4. Bring A Friend
You’ll always do a better workout when you’re with a friend. You’ll have someone to chat to and someone to give you a bit of a challenge as well. She can do twenty sit-ups? That’s no bother- I can do twenty-five…

5. Mix It Up
Mix your exercise regime up. You don’t want your hour’s routine to become monotonous, you’ll lose interest quickly. Try and work from the top of your body to the bottom some days and others decide it will just be a day for the abs.
6. Take Breaks
Do quick exercise sets instead of sitting at the machine or on the mat for hours at a time. Just do it and get out! Your workout will fly by…
