You might have noticed that your teeth have become quite yellow lately. There’s a multitude of things that could be to blame.
You might be a coffee or a tea addict, a lover of soft drinks or energy drinks, a fruit junkie or you might have a sweet tooth. These high-in-sugar or dark-coloured foods can stain your teeth over time. You might just not be brushing your teeth properly. Three minutes is the time recommended for each brush and you should be flossing daily as well.
If your teeth have lost their natural gleam, don’t despair, there is a way to reverse the damage.
Read below and discover the foods that can make your pearly whites shine like new again…
1. Sugarless Gum
Sugar-free gum cleans teeth by stimulating the production of saliva. Saliva is your body’s way of washing away acids produced by the bacteria in your mouth.
2. Water

3. Dairy
Dairy foods are a primary source of calcium and calcium is an essential for a white smile. It strengthens teeth too, making sure your enamel is healthy.
4. Fibre Foods

5. Strawberries
Strawberries are a fabulous treat, but there’s more to them than meets the tastebuds. They contain malic acid, a natural enamel whitener. If you’re up for making your own DIY whitening treatment, we have the scoop from Health.com.
1. Crush a strawberry to a pulp and mix it with baking soda.
2. Spread it on your teeth using a soft toothbrush (that you probably won’t use again).
3. Leave it on for five minutes before washing it off.
4. Floss so there’s no small seeds stuck inbetween your teeth. You will notice an immediate difference…

Beauty Tip: If you have naturally discoloured teeth but you’re a fan of lippie, choose a darker toned colour like a red to show your teeth off at their best. A pastel or pink colour can make your teeth look more discoloured.
