Not the potion, exactly, but seven golden rules to a longer life.

The seven simple steps to a healthy lifestyle have been unearthed by experts and claim to help cut your risk of cancer by half and reduce your chances of heart disease.

Today, in association Special K Cracker Crisps, we’re getting to the crunch on the seven simple rules to a longer, healthier lifestyle.

The secret to a long and healthy life can be achieved by following seven steps:

2. Maintaining a healthy diet

3. Sticking to a healthy weight

The study was conducted by the American Heart Association and claims that adhering to at least six of the rules could dramatically reduce your risk of cancer, as much as 51 per cent.

Following four of the rules lead to a 33 per cent risk reduction, while one or two would cut your chances by 21 per cent.
