It looks like there’s one more reason to celebrate with a glass of champagne.
A new study has found that downing just three glasses of the bubbly stuff every day can help to prevent the onset of dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Researchers at Reading University have discovered that the compound which is the black grapes – which is used to make Pinot noir and Pinot meunier – is believed to successfully prevent the onset of brain diseases.
According to the Evening Standard, the initial experiments were carried out on rats, but the academic team are set to start trialling their results with pensioners.
Academics have said people who regularly drink champagne could also boost their spatial memory.
Speaking to the Mail On Sunday, Professor Jeremy Spencer said:
“The results were dramatic. This research is exciting because it illustrates for the first time that moderate consumption of champagne has the potential to influence cognitive functioning such as memory.”
A spokesman for the Alzheimer’s Society UK has described the study as “interesting” before adding that “a lot more research is needed.”
Despite the study still being admittedly in its developing stages, we think that’s a good excuse to pop a cork this evening.
