It’s one of life’s biggest questions.
“Do I take my shoes off?”
It generally depends on the house, but once you read these facts we can promise you you’ll be taking them off at every door.
A study undertaken by the University of Arizona revealed that 420,000 units of bacteria were found on the outside of shoes.
Dare to read on?
Of this bacteria, 27 per cent was the deadly E. Coli virus, and 96 per cent indicated contact with faecal material (both human and animal).
And one more…?
The worrying fact is that 99 per cent of bacteria can be transmitted to carpet and tiles within your home.
Your home mightn’t be as clean as you think.
Our best advice is leave your shoes at the door, or as close to the door as possible.
Another quick tip is to ensure the shoes you wear are waterproof. There is a real risk of bacteria and germs containing faecal material, spreading around your home from wet feet.

We think we’ll be bringing in our shoes from now on…
