Bottoms Up! Study Proves Why You Should Drink That Glass Of Wine Tonight

If you love a sup of red wine after a long day, this could be the news you’ve been waiting for…

Apparently those bones don’t just need calcium – a glass of wine could be the answer to improved bone density.

Downing one to three glasses of your favourite bottle of wine could be the difference between frail bones and fighting fit.

A study from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that elderly women who were classed as ‘moderate’ drinkers, found that bone mineral density was 12% to 16% higher among moderate drinkers, compared with non-drinkers.

The equivalent of one to three glasses of wine was proven to have greater bone mineral density measured in the hip region of their thighbones.

Testing nearly 500 elderly women, researchers from Creighton University in Omaham, Nebraska credited the minerals to overall increased health, thanks to polyphenols – substances found in red wine that lessen the effects of harmful bacteria, preventing your body from illness and disease.

So ladies, it’s time to pop the cork and have a have a glass or two.

No guilt required. It’s practically doctor’s orders.
