Did you know our bodies are made up of 60 per cent water?
It’s the single most important substance that allows us to function. So, don’t forget to drink the appropriate amount of water everyday.
Nowadays avoiding water is all too easy, between teas, coffees, fizzy drinks, juices and so on – it’s all too easy to get out of the habit of drinking water.
So take note, and drink up!
Water is readily available, it’s refreshing, thirst-quenching, and absolutely wonderful for healthy skin, and yet there are weeks we are all guilty of choosing to neglect it.
As well as hydrating us, water also eliminates toxins from our body, and acts as a lubricating agent for our joints, tissues and organs. It regulates our body temperature also. It’s advised we need at least 2 litres a day, especially important on a training day.
Dehydration can affect both your training performance and your health in general too. Headaches are generally linked to dehydration, so if you’re suffering from them that could well be a cause.
A lack of water means we are less able to perspire and our blood volume decreases and the body temperature rises. Fatigue, nausea and dizziness can occur and in more extreme case its possible to experience a heat stroke.
Something else than can spice up our water intake a little is coconut water.

Coconut water in general is said to be full of electrolytes that you can lose when working out such as calcium, sodium, magnesium and potassium so as well as your standard water it’s nice to know there’s something else that’s natural and good for you post-exercise.
Fluids are essential but water is key to staying healthy so remain hydrated and keep refreshed!
