The man claimed the problem was from a botched surgical penile implant.

A truck driver from Newark sued a urologist for medical malpractice who performed a penile implant after it was claimed the man suffered from an 8 month erection.

Daniel Metzgar said his condition got so bad that he was barely able to retrieve the morning newspaper and could not ride his motorcycle. Metzgar began to withdraw from daily life, even refusing to attend family events.

The source of the issue, according to USA Today, was a three-piece inflatable implant consisting of inflatable cylinders inside the shaft of the penis, a fluid reservoir under the abdominal wall and a pump inside the scrotum.

Unfortunately, Metzgar didn’t report anything was a problem until months after the operation.

Mr. Metzgar had the prosthesis removed several months later, his family drove him back to the hospital to undergo the surgery.

“I could hardly dance, with an erection poking my partner,” Metzgar told jurors Monday when he took the witness stand. “It’s not something you want to bring out at parties and show to friends.”

Following another operation, Metzgar received a replacement prosthesis, but the scar tissue from the first surgery resulted his penis being 50% smaller.
