Imagine if you could get the perfect body without going near a gym or existing on a diet of celery and lettuce leaves – it sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
However, scientists believe that they have found a way to beat the bulge by discovering a new drug that has the ability to turn fat into muscle. Yes, really.
The Irish Daily Star reports that this find could help doctors and patients to fight life-threatening illnesses such as diabetes or severe obesity. So how does it work?
Well, the human body has two different types of fat. ‘White’ fat which is considered to be a very bad and ‘brown’ fat which is good for the body. White fat is basically the fat that accumulates in our bodies when we’re eating too much junk food and not getting enough exercise. Brown fat, however, is a muscle-like fat, meaning that it actually burns itself off.
The new wonder-drug that has been discovered by scientists in the United States has the ability to turn white fat into good, healthy, brown fat. The result is that all the white fat is dissolved and the brown fat eventually burns off, leaving the body slimmer.

The new drug claims that it can melt off any excess pounds.
It definitely does sound too good to be true, and here in the Her.ie offices we’re firm believers that the only (healthy) way to shift a few pounds is to watch what you eat and do the recommended amount of exercise every week.
And it’s not just us who feel this way. According to reports, US doctors have said that they are wary of the new wonder-drug because of the harmful side-effects that it can have on the body. The side-effects of the drug include liver toxicity and, strangely enough, weight gain (eh…sense?).
Yeah…we don’t know about you, but we think we’ll be sticking to our power-walks and cutting down our chocolate intake…
