The McChicken nugget is set to change considerably and it sounds good

We're not sure how to feel.

The McChicken nugget has received its fair share of bad press over the years but that could soon change.

McDonald’s has announced plans to revolutionise the recipe and (wait for it) the new version will be preservative free.

Instead of artificial additions, the new ‘McChicken Nugget’ will include lemon juice and rice starch, according to Business Insider.

A spokesperson for the fast-food chain spoke to the publication: “These new chicken McNuggets are made with a simpler recipe that parents can feel good about while keeping the same great taste they know and love.

“More than ever, customers care about where their food comes from and how it is prepared”.

The new McNugget has been rolled out in US branches of McDonald’s, in SouthWest Washington and Oregon, but there is no confirmation yet on whether it will make its way over here.

Fingers crossed.
