Supermarket giant Aldi has recalled rum produced by Glen Turner amid fears that some bottles could contain glass.
According to The Irish Mirror, two batches of Old Hopking white rum have been recalled in Ireland.
A spokesperson for the company said that there is “a very small chance” that fragments of glass could have gotten into some of the product.
Describing the recall as a ‘precautionary measure’, the spokesperson explained that the situation arose due to a ‘manufacturing defect’ at the Glen Turner plant.
The Birmingham Mail reports that the British Food Standards Agency asked that white and dark Glen Turner rum, sold in both Asda and Aldi, be returned immediately.
