Free food.

As much as we might try to avoid it, sometimes the lure of a McChicken sandwich/ Big Mac meal/ Crunchie McFlurry is too much and we have to give in.

After hearing the latest McDonald’s news, we might be tempted to do that more because according to reports, the fast food giant has plans to introduce a loyalty scheme.

Spotted on METRO, the UBS Global Consumer Conference was held this week.

McDonald’s US president, Mike Andres, was one of the speakers and revealed: “We’re working on a customer-designed loyalty program that we think will be as good as there is out there in the marketplace”.

Nation’s Restaurant News says that the loyalty scheme will run through the McDonald’s app which is great news as it’s one less paper loyalty card to carry around.

Oh and the rewards system is likely to involve food with Mike explaining that the chain’s bosses see the scheme as a way to keep customers returning to Maccie D’s.

“If we see a thawing off, we can entice them with their favorite products to come to the restaurant”.

“That’s the future of customer relationship management. We think it can be a significant sales layer for us.”
