I think we can all agree that chocolate is the answer to all of life’s problems. And for one little entrepreneur, it’s the life-saving answer to his best friend’s illness.
Dylan Siegel has just raised $1million by selling a book of all things that he thinks are awesome, or as he likes to put it #SoChocolateBar.
Dylan was six when his best friend Jonah Pournazarian was diagnosed with a rare liver disorder with no known cure. Deciding he needed to help, Dylan put together a book of all things as awesome as a chocolate bar.
The book, ‘Chocolate Bar’ sold nearly 25,000 copies in 60 countries, and this week earned the schoolboy $1million.
The book opens:
‘Disneyland is so chocolate bar’ while the last page reads, ‘I like to help my friends. That is the biggest chocolate bar.’
Thanks to Dylan’s fundraising efforts, a research team in the University of Florida have now been able to hire a new geneticist and finance studies resulting in new genre-therapy treatments.
Now there’s a friend for life.
