Who cares about getting the lyrics right, when you’ve got HEART?
Chances are that if you’re a Disney fan you’ve seen Frozen by now. (If you haven’t, you should.)
For the uninitiated though, one of the standout tracks from the movie is ‘Let It Go’, performed by Broadway sensation Idina Menzel.
Idina can do no wrong in our eyes, but on this occasion we might just prefer the version performed by four-year-old Ella, whose uncle Danny uploaded it to YouTube. Thank you Danny.
Though the track of Ella singing is set to the original animation, Danny explained to The Huffington Post what was going on behind the scenes. He said: “With the Frozen video she dances around in her Elsa nighty with her Elsa cape and her Elsa boots and her Elsa glove. And then at the right time she tosses her glove in to the air. She also lets her hair down at the right time and does her cute stomp in way oversized boots.”
Since Ella’s video was uploaded, the family were made aware that a producer of the film had spotted it and sent it on to the film’s star Idina. According to Danny, though, Ella was nonplussed. He explained; “We tried to explain the significance to Ella and the importance was lost to her. … We keep trying to explain that, ‘The original singer Elsa saw you sing!’ And she just goes, ‘I’m Elsa, I sang it.'”
You tell ’em kid.
