We are all very excited to see the return of the beloved fast-talking mother-daughter TV show The Gilmore Girls, which will be hitting Netflix in the near future.
It was great to hear of all the cast members returning to Stars Hollow one last time as part of the 4 90-minute episode run which has already started production.
Lauren Graham voiced her excitement on Twitter with a fab selfie:
I CAN NOW CONFIRM: it’s time for me, and this jacket I stole in 2007, to return to work.@netflix #GilmoreGirls pic.twitter.com/tBb07J9oO1

However, we did notice one very important cast member was conspicuously absent from all the buzz, Melissa McCarthy aka Lorelai’s right-hand woman Sookie St. James.
Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino had said that McCarthy’s busy movie career would have impeded on her ability to take part, but now the woman herself has tweeted the real answer:
Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow. Wish them all the best!! https://t.co/II2Atug4wx

SHE WASN’T EVEN ASKED. An absolute travesty. We’re still looking forward to it, don’t get us wrong but Sookie will be missed.
