We’ve just had our week cheered right up today thanks to the one and only Matthew McConaughey.
Footage from the actor’s audition for Dazed and Confused back in 1993 has been uploaded online and gives fans of the star a sneak peek behind the scenes.
Director Richard Linklater revealed that McConaughey had wowed him during the audition.
“He did this audition and he kind of, like, fell into this character,” Linklater told Straight.com.
“His eyes turned into little quarter slots, he’s like, ‘Hey man, you got a joint?’ and I was like, ‘Holy s***!’ He became that guy. Holy moley.”
“And I always say Matthew’s a character actor,” he continued. “I met him as a character actor.
“He was too good-looking for the part, but we were long enough away from shooting that I said, ‘Okay, don’t cut your hair, don’t shave, can you grow a moustache?’”
From our point of view, anything that has Matthew McConaughey in it is a winner in our eyes and seriously… has he changed at all in the last 22 years?!
