Ryan Gosling has reunited with Nicolas Winding Refn, director of Drive, for new film Only God Forgives. Gosling plays Julien, an exiled American who is running a Bangkok Boxing Club as a front for a drug business and the film has already been described as much more extreme than Refn’s previous work.
Interestingly, Kristen Scott-Thomas plays Gosling’s mother for the piece and provides the voiceover for the trailer.
Many are predicting that the pair will return to Cannes this year to debut the film and what a festival that is lining up to be; The Great Gatsby will open Cannes this year.
Only God Forgives has not got a release date in Ireland just yet, but will most likely be released in May or June of this year.
